Color of the year classic Blue

Before the start of the new century in 1999, the Pantone Institute announced that their color os the new decade was Cerulean blue, and now as we enter 2020, the Pantone Fashion Institute announced that 2020’s color of the year is “Classic Blue-Pantone 19-4052”.

According to the Pantone Institute, Classic Blue instills the feeling of calmness, confidence, and connection. Classic Blue represents timelessness and simplicity and is the color of power, distinction, and authority. “It’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next,” says the Pantone Color Institute. Classic Blue is designed to inspire confidence, clearness, and peace of mind in others.

WHEN TO WEAR CLASSIC BLUE (2020'S COLOR OF THE YEAR)

Think of Classic Blue as the color of the night sky. Classic blue offers a high degree of flexibility as it pairs well with cool, warm, or neutral skin tones. It is a cornerstone suit color in any business professional’s wardrobe.

Wear Classic Blue for a first interview, public speaking event, or when you are looking to get your point across to a large group of people (think of a toast at a wedding, when getting a formal picture taken, or when closing a big deal).

A classic blue solid and subtle stripe are two must-haves for 2020 by providing an anchoring foundation to any wardrobe.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, the director of Pantone’s Color Institute, Classic Blue is a “solid and dependable hue we can always rely on. Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious, to expand our thinking, [and to] increase our perspective and open the flow of communication.”

By wearing Classic Blue, you give the impression of calmness to others around you. They think of you as someone they can feel safe and calm with; you are someone they can express themselves openly to. Classic Blue also lets them think you are a great communicator and leader in your field.

HOW BEST TO WEAR 2020'S COLOR OF THE YEAR

Since Classic Blue is such a universal color tone, you can play up the accessories. Choose brightly-colored neckwear, such as tones of pinks, purples, and magentas, to pop some color in your outfit. For that added bonus, toss in a pocket square that enhances the color of your necktie for a polished well put together total look.
If you choose to go with a Classic Blue suit, we suggest a white collared banker stripe shirt as it draws attention to your face when speaking.

Classic Blue goes with any shoe color. For best results, try it with a pair of dark brown, chili, or black colored shoes of any type.
